The great creation from Technetium and Pale Horse Designs is now BACK at the SRU. We have made some color changes to improve the visibility and appearance, and had custom presentation cases made for them. They are now in stock for a limited time, and one or both can ship cheaply in a small padded bag. You can see the detailed info on the new design HERE.
One coin is blue and nickel plated, one is satin gold and silver finish with a jade accent. There's only 1 run of 40 of each style available, and when they are gone, that's it. It has been almost 2 years since we last had these, and it is very difficult and costly to set up the foundry and tooling for these runs, so don't miss out this time. They are incredibly beautiful to look at and amazing to touch, with a working slide rule on the face (the two outer scales are C and D, the innermost is a Log Log scale, and smith chart on the reverse. These 50mm diameter coins are heavy and thick (5mm), not a flimsy plastic item, but a solid metal good luck piece or pocket fancy you will enjoy for a long time.
Originally designed as Geocaching coins by Dutch Geocacher Technetium, they are a truly unique slide rule item. The core is die cast zinc alloy to achieve the high detail, with either gold or silver toned plating, or nickel plating, depending on the design. The inner triangle design is Sierpiski's fractal triangle. You can get a set of both coins, or just one, as you wish. The presentation box has a viewing window, and each coin is surrounded by a die cut foam holder to protect it. These look nice displayed on a desk in our small slide rule stands. Gilson's most famous aluminum circular slide rule, with alternating yellow/white stripes and fractional converter/operator scales. This rule was made by Gilson in Florida but was often sold by numerous other companies, including POST, Dietzgen, Tavella, Bruning and others.
This is a very powerful rule, with 3 sets of trig scales (sin/tan), giving performance equal to a much larger straight rule, and still has the original printed manual.
The rule has unique fractional 'binary' scales that permit operations directly with fractional numbers, and also drill size scales. Rotating dual cursors with a slip clutch on one side, and a single cursor on the other. Excellent condition rule and case. Cases for these rules were made of random fabric materials at the factory, and each one is a bit different. The set offered IS NOT the exact rule pictured, but looks very similar, with good metalwork.

The 740 is a metric converter built on the Concise data center 'chassis'. The front is a compact 3 inch pocket circular slide rule, attached to a rectangular data center card (with side inch/cm rulers on the back). The rear side has a C/F temperature scale, inch and centimeter rulers and a nice table of constants. A very handy rule for quick conversions of temperature, length, volume, weight and area, PLUS an extra C/D scale set for general calculations. 8" Circular Slide Rule
LATE MODEL, EXCELLENT condition. This beautiful satin finish aluminum circular rule was intended for the graphics industry, used for sizing paper and images for enlargement, reproduction, etc, but is a fully functional C/D scale rule for any general math purpose (mark-up/discount, multiplication, division, percentages, etc.). The rule has an inner rotating disk inside a stationary one, and an ingeniously hung movable cursor which looks as if it hangs in mid-air over the rule body. If you have wanted a truly elegant circular to add to your collection, this is the rule! Beautifully made and finished, the back is covered in a textured black gripping surface. Includes black vinyl case, with instructions (in German) on the rear. Norma is a German slide rule maker, Grafia was their trade name for these graphic arts circular rules.

5.5" Circular Aviation Slide Rule
Constructed with one rotating film disk, and rotating cursor on each side. A very sophisticated and beautiful flight computer for doing altitude, pressure, time, temperature, and fuel problems.
The rule give simultaneous solutions in both metric and US/Imperial units, without being cluttered or hard to interpret, an outstanding mechanical and artistic design. Still in demand today among many pilots, but very hard to find.
Made of 'Aristopal', comes complete with zippered leather pouch. We have had many requests for this rule from all over the world, this is the first one we have had available for sale in a year, excellent condition. The rule for sale IS NOT the rule pictured at right, but looks the same, except for minor variations in the the case (black or brown). A full english manual copy is included! We can also supply the german manual if you prefer.

 Circular Slide Rule
Uncommon Faber-Castell circular, BRAND NEW, MINT plastic body rule with rotating scale and 7 line cursor, two color (red/black) scale markings, trademark mint green accent stripes on primary scales, yellow stripes on dual cycle scales, and expanded trig scales. The rule is self documenting on right hand side for all scales, the back is blank. An exceptionally high quality and attractive circular rule, seldom seen outside of Europe. There are two versions of this rule, one where the reverse side is blank (this rule), and one with setting data (see german version above). The TPC scale correspond to 8" per statute mile used on Sectional Aeronautical Charts, and the ONC scale 16" per statute mile used on World Aeronautical charts. (These are the US civil aviation names, the military and maybe other countries use the TPC/OPC designations.
The compass rose is normally placed on a starting point on a chart orientated to north, then the scale is rotated to the desired course. The heading is read on the compass rose, and the milage is read on the TPC/ONC scale. If you wish to know more, e-mail Craig Kielhofer who is a pilot and can answer your questions.

Constructed with one rotating film disk, and rotating cursor on each side. A very sophisticated and beautiful flight computer for doing altitude, pressure, wind drift, time, temperature, and fuel problems.
The rule gives simultaneous solutions in both metric and US/Imperial units, without being cluttered or hard to interpret, an outstanding mechanical and artistic design. Still in demand today among many pilots, but very hard to find.
Made of 'Aristopal', comes complete with zippered leather pouch. We have had many requests for this rule from all over the world, this set is in very good condtion, except for a few case scuffs. The similar 617 has an additional rotating wind arrow on the back face, not present on these models. This earlier 616 does not have the red reciprocal degrees printed on the rear compass rose, or the wind arrow.Comes with an english manual reprint, but we can supply the german manual if you prefer.

Yet another strange slide rule artifact from long ago. This pencil cup or desk caddy has two circular slide rule bands that rotate around the cup body, and perform US to metric unit conversions of all kinds.
A surprisingly handy gizmo, these are new in the factory box, all are white with black text (this also exist in black with white text, and red with white text, but this is what we have). Converts temperature, length, weight, area, speed and volume. Impressive computing power for a pencil cup.

4 Inch Duplex Circular Pickett's most popular aluminum circular slide rule, with decimal to fraction conversions and additional scales on rear face. Very nice rule, still new in the original blister package, something you just don't see very often! complete with gold embossed black leather case and original Pickett manual. This is a powerful lightweight pocket rule, with performance equal to a much larger straight rule. Rotating dual cursors on one side (with scales ID's on cursor), single on the reverse. Rule, manual and case are very good condition. Packaged PIC is the actual rule offered, the close ups are another rule for reference, as the rule offered is still sealed.

Circular rules offer greater scale length in a smaller physical package, so that you don't poke the guy at the next desk in the eye with that 20 inch straight rule in your quest for better resolution. Concise circular rules also offer some interesting 'look-up' and conversion features to the basic rule for added utility. Circulars come in plastic and metal construction (plus paper when made as perrygrafs), but not in wood.
