Catalog Number and Name Names in italics actually appear on the rule. Other names are common usage or taken from catalogs. Post brand slide rules are usually labeled with model number and the Post trademark or Frederick Post Co.	Type: Mannheim Duplex Simplex Circular Etc. Simplex means a duplex rule that has no calculating scales on the backs of the stators.	Nominal Length in Inches (Most 10-inch slide rules have scales that are actually 250 mm long--slightly shorter than 10 inches.)	What the rule is made of, such as wood, plastic, unobtanium, etc.	Scales on Front For mannheim rules only, this also includes any measuring scale on top edge set off with // or \|\|. 'cm //' indicates a centimeter scale on a slanted surface; '0 \|\|' indicates a vertical surface with no scale.	Scales on Back For mannheim rules only, this also includes any measuring scale on bottom edge set off with // or \|\|. Measuring scales are given wherever they are known. If nothing is shown, scale is not known.	Our guess about when the rule was made or available. If we have only one reference, that date is given.
